Doris (Freedman) Waldman

Doris Waldman, 92, of Scranton, died Friday evening in the Jewish Home of Eastern PA.  Her beloved husband, the late Aaron Hirsch Waldman, preceded her in 2014.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah Spitz Freedman, she was a graduate of Atlantic City High School and later Syracuse University.  She was a member of Temple Israel and was a past president of its sisterhood.

Surviving are two daughters,  Wendy Barker and husband Jeffrey, Armonk, New York, and Nancy Chaney and husband Benson, Chesterfield, VA;  two grandchildren, Sara Robbin and husband Jonathan, and Jordan Barker; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Chloe Robbin. 

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Warren Freedman.

A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Temple Israel Cemetery, Dunmore, by Cantor Vladimir Aronzon.

There will be no local shiva.
