Adeline Grande, 97, Dunmore, died Sunday at home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Joseph R. Grande, in 2015.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Mary Santarsiero Ludovici, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School and a dedicated member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore where she was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. For many years, she was employed by the parish in housekeeping and acted as eucharistic minister, also serving with the former Mercy Hospital in Scranton. A woman of deep faith, Adeline was additionally a Secular Carmelite. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be missed.
Surviving is her daughter and caregiver, Carol Ann Grande; her son Joseph P. Grande and wife Lois; cherished grandson Dr. Todd Lawrence Grande and wife Amy; great-grandsons Jacob Alexander Grande and wife Rachel, Samuel Todd Grande and partner Hailey Richmond, and Luke Alan Grande and partner Aimee Iovanesci; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Joseph Ludovici, son-in-law Allen J. Robinson, and great-great-granddaughter Alayna Rose Grande.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore. Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
