Alan E. Yearing, 66 of Scranton, passed away, unexpectedly, Friday afternoon, at his home.
Born in Scranton, he is the son of Helen Gilroy Yearing and the late Edmund Yearing. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and prior to retirement, he worked as a Supply Technician in the Defense Logistics Agency at Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Alan was an avid gardener and a Dallas Cowboys fan. He had a love for animals especially his cat Digit and dog Shiek. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Surviving are sisters, Carol Snyder and husband Walt, Archbald and Michele Schoen and husband Terry, Southampton. Brothers David Yearing Scranton, Paul Yearing and wife Loretta, Dunmore and Edmund Yearing and wife Donna, Scranton; Aunt Dorothy Lenhart, Elmhurst and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be on Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clare’s Church, 2251 N. Washington Ave. Scranton, Pa.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
