Obituary

Alice Marie Mallas, 85, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Allied Skilled Nursing in Scranton, PA. Alice was born September 24, 1935 in Moscow, PA to the late Irene Johnson Hoffman.

She was a graduate of Moscow High School in 1953 and a lifelong resident of the Dunmore / Mt. Cobb area. Before retirement, Alice worked 25+ years for Specialty Records and AOL Time Warner in Olyphant, PA. She is a congregant at St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church in Dunmore, PA.

She is now reunited with her lifelong sweetheart and husband, the late Edward Eugene Mallas Sr., who preceded her in passing in 2007. The couple were married June 2nd, 1956 & had each other for 51 years.

Alice is survived by two sons, Edward Jr. and wife Lori, Sugarloaf, PA; and Joseph and wife, Marilyn, Suwanee, GA; six grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00am at St. Michael’s Byzantine Church, Drinker St. in Dunmore. All those attending Mass are kindly and respectfully asked to social distance and are required to wear a mask.

Interment, Mt. Cobb Cemetery.

There are no public calling hours.
