Angela J. Vitali, 93, of Dunmore, passed away Tuesday morning at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. She was the widow of the late John P. Jr., who passed away Oct. 6, 2015. The couple had been married for 61 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Sarry Beardell and was a graduate of Dunmore High School and Lackawanna Junior College. Before retirement, she was a medical secretary for Lackawanna Medical Group.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sending cards for every occasion and scrolling through Facebook to stay connected with family and friends. She was infamous for her marble poundcake and enjoyed baking. She found the most joy from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her family wishes to thank Marywood Heights and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for all of their care and compassion.
Surviving are daughters, Nina Macciocco, Dunmore; Jane Vitali, Atlanta, Ga.; and Louise Cross and husband, James, Kendall Park, N.J.; a son, James and wife, Becky, Loveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
