Angelo "Ang" Giordano, 92, devoted husband, loving and caring father and doting grandfather, loyal, genuine, and generous friend to all, was peacefully called to heaven on July 3, 2024 after a life respectfully lived in service and kindness.
Angelo was a resident of Lincoln Park, NJ for nearly 64 years. He embodied a strong work ethic, yet always put his family before all else. He was born on April 18, 1932 in Scranton, son of Eugene and Frances Giordano of Dunmore, PA. Angelo married his sweetheart, the former Mary Coviello of Dunmore, PA on June 21, 1952. Angelo was an X-Ray Technician who worked at Scranton State Hospital. Accepting an opportunity in Pompton Plains, NJ, he moved his family to work for a Radiologist in the same capacity.
Angelo's entrepreneurial ability to recognize potential enabled him and Mary to establish one of the first licensed private medical transportation services in New Jersey, An-Mar Ambulance, Inc. After many successful years servicing the communities, he later developed a self storage facility in Wayne, NJ, A&M Self Storage, Inc.
Angelo was an Army Veteran proudly serving his country in the Korean War. He was a man of high moral values possessing a strong character exemplified by integrity, virtue, trust, and authenticity. Ang was gentle and charismatic, never having met a stranger. He was immediately liked by everyone because he was accepting of others, rather than expecting. Angelo loved to joke and make others laugh. He learned early on that true joy and happiness is experienced not by serving oneself, but by helping others and making them feel important and special. Ang will be sadly missed and thought of fondly.
He is survived by his beloved wife; his children Beverly Baker of PA, and David Giordano of NJ; his grandson, Nicholas Giordano of NJ.
Angelo was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Nicholas; and his grandson, Jason Simcoe; and son-in-law, Charles Baker.
A visitation will be held at Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, on Friday, July 26th from 9-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m.
Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
