Ann “Nina” Voytek Chiaro, 76, Scranton died Monday at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio.
She and her husband Richard would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary July 31st. Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late George and Ann Barnick Voytek. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1967 and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Scranton. Prior to retirement she had worked for the Trane Company and also worked in the dental office of Dr. David Oven, Dunmore. She enjoyed camping at Lake Wallenpaupack for over 20 years.
Also surviving are a son Christopher R. Chiaro, Ph.D. research biochemist and director of the Shalev Lab for Healthy Human Aging, Telomere Biology and Molecular Disease Prevention at the Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA, two sisters Jeanne Voytek, Dunmore, and Mary Davies and husband Tim, Sturgis, also nieces nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 E. Drinker Street, Dunmore, with mass of Christian burial at 10 am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Minooka.
Friends may call Monday at the funeral home from 4 to 6pm.
