Ann M. Sica Straneva, 70, Scranton, died Friday morning at Scranton Health Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Straneva, who died in 2001
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph J. Jr. and Elveria Rossi Sica and beloved sister to the late Rev. Joseph F. Sica, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1970 and had been employed as a certified nursing assistant for Lackawanna County Nursing Home prior to her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton. Ann enjoyed going to casinos, playing Bingo, shopping and dining out, as well as traveling.
Surviving are several cousins, an aunt, and an uncle. A special thank you to her primary caregiver Joanne, Allied Hospice, and the staff of the Scranton Health Care Center.
The funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Ave., and E. Gibson St.., Scranton. Interment to follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of mass.
