Ann Marie Maus, 76, of Dunmore, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 30th . She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Howard T. Maus.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna Gervasi Bordo. She attended the Dunmore public schools and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Dunmore.
Known to many as Buckle Bee, she was the owner and operator of Green Ridge News for 41 years. She had a love for her family and hosting everyone for Sunday dinners and holidays, where her attention to detail never went unnoticed. Ann Marie was always caught picking up after others and making sure any place that she left, was looking better than it was before she got there. In addition, she very much enjoyed visiting her vacation home in San Juan, Puerto Rico with friends and family, including Angie Valvano, and would never miss her yearly trip, as it was a nice vacation from the hustle and bustle of The Green Ridge News and being the anchor of the family. The love that she gave was reflected to the love that was given in her last few years of life with her daughter, Kathy Ann, who never took a day or night off when it came to caring for her mother- these moments they shared will be deeply missed by Kathy Ann.
Also surviving is her daughter Kathy Ann Colosimo and husband Russell, Scranton. Daughter- in-law, Julie Kitch Maus. Grandchildren, CaseyAnn Brudnicki, Desiree Maus-Warren and husband, Sam Warren. Bryanna Colosimo and fiancé Joshua Aviles, Mya and Ava Maus. A great- grandson, Gage Matthew. Nieces, Patty Ann Condon and Christina Bovani. Nephews, James Bordo and companion Judy Cobb, Robert “Duke,” and Ryan Carpinet. Sister-in-law, Susan Maus Carpinet and husband Robert, Wyoming, PA. In addition to several cousins in the area.
She was preceded in death by her son, Howie J. Maus. Sister, Antoinette “Tootsie” Riccardo and husband Lawrence and brothers, Caesar Bordo and wife Carmella and Bernard Bordo and wife Ann. Niece, Mary Anne Bordo and nephew, Ricky “Squirrel” Riccardo. Mother and father- in-law, Kathryn and Howard Maus.
The family wishes to thank Susan Comstock and her caregivers from First Light Home Care of Greater Scranton for all of their care and compassion.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut St. in Dunmore.
Entombment, Dunmore Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
