Ann Marie (Baclawski) Shimsky

Ann Marie Shimsky, a longtime resident of Dunmore and Scranton, passed away on November 11, 2023.  She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Edward M. Shimsky.

Born Ann Marie Baclawski in Dunmore in 1936, Mrs. Shimsky was the daughter of the late Helen (Mosko) Baclawski and the late Raymond R. Baclawski.  She was also predeceased by her aunt, Justine Mosko of Dunmore, and her sister.

Mrs. Shimsky graduated from Dunmore High School as a member of the Class of 1953.  She worked for a time at Matthew Bros. where she met Mr. Shimsky.  She was a former member of the Dunmore Senior Center.

Surviving her are her daughter MaryJane Shimsky and MaryJane’s husband, David Agosto, of Dobbs Ferry, New York, as well as Mrs. Shimsky’s grandchildren, Isaac Shimsky-Agosto and Miranda Shimsky-Agosto.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home of Dunmore arranged the private funeral which was followed by interment at Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Cemetery in Dunmore on November 14th, 2023.
