Ashley Egan Obituary

Ashley Madlyn Egan, age 35, of Hoboken, New Jersey, passed away Monday morning surrounded by her family following a short and sudden illness at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford CT.

Born in Scranton, PA, she is the daughter of Patrick J. and Christine Olivetti Egan of Simsbury, CT.

Ashley spent her early years in East Stroudsburg, PA, and moved to Simsbury, CT, prior to entering the 5th grade. After graduating from Simsbury High School, she attended Villanova University where she graduated with a business degree in Finance and Marketing. Since her graduation in 2006, Ashley has been a valued employee of Johnson & Johnson Inc. in roles of increasing responsibility, and most recently was the Senior Finance Manager for the Janssen R&D Group within Johnson & Johnson.

Ashley was many things during her life--a ballet and championship Irish step dancer, field hockey player, cheerleader, student, professional, friend, loving sister, devoted daughter, and doting aunt--but she will be remembered most for her loving and friendly personality, infectious smile, and the close relationships she built with the many people who knew and loved her. Ashley loved to travel and saw much of the world during her personal and professional travels. She visited Hong Kong, Paris, Barcelona, Brussels, Prague, Berlin, London, Rome, Dublin, Positano, Whistler, San Juan, and many more destinations domestic and abroad.

In addition to her parents, Ashley leaves behind a large family who love her dearly: sister, Olivia of Hoboken, NJ; brothers, Adam of Simsbury, CT, and Brendan and his wife Kristan of Cumberland RI; nieces Quinn (3), and Dylan (1); grandmother, Sue Egan of Bethlehem, PA; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and her beloved family dog, Brody.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Armand Sr. and Madlyn (Pallo) Olivetti of Dunmore, PA; and her paternal grandfather, John W. Egan, Sr. of Bethlehem, PA.

Always in our hearts and forever missed…see you soon, Sashkatoon.

The funeral will be Saturday January 25th from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, PA, with Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 218 Smith St., Dunmore.
