August (Augie) Joseph Koloras, 77, Dunmore, passed away October 6th, in the Intensive Care Unit of Geisinger CMC. He and his wife the former Jean Oliver had celebrated 55 years of marriage on May 10th.
Born in Dunmore, Augie was the son of the late Thomas and Grace Pace Koloras and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. He graduated in 1964 from Dunmore High School and retired from the Scranton/Dunmore Sewer Authority after 40 years. He was an avid car enthusiast and a member of Pocono Mountain Street Rods and Villa Capri Cruisers car clubs.
Augie is survived by his beloved son August Koloras and wife Jesslyn, his cherished granddaughters Grace and Cecelia Koloras all of York, PA.
A special thanks goes to his Cousin Maria McKeel and son Michael Francis for all their help and caring.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Charles Deck for the years of loving care he provided to Augie for the past 50 years as well as the care and compassion provided by the CMC Intensive Unit (especially Marcos) in his final hours.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, Smith Street in Dunmore. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church.
Burial will follow in the Italian-American Cemetery in Scranton.
Family and friends may visit Thursday from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore.
