Barbara A. Biggs, 88, of Scranton, died peacefully with her daughters by her side on July 15th. Her late husband, William G. Biggs died March 9, 1992.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Micewicz Smar and prior to retirement, she was a dedicated and beloved employee at the former Biffs Restaurant, a CNA at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa and was an active member of the Olive Branch Bible Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and most importantly her great-grandchildren as they were the love of her life. She was happiest when she was play boxing, snuggling and coloring with her great-grandsons and she enjoyed crocheting and baking with her great-granddaughter. She found great pleasure cooking and baking for her family and their friends. Barbara always found the positive in everything, she could light up a room with her amazing smile and had a way of always seeing the best in everyone. She was loved by many and was extremely proud of her nine grandsons who she lovingly called her baseball team. She held a special place in her heart for her five girls. She will be sadly missed.
Surviving are daughters; Karen Biggs and husband Michael, Mariann Manning and husband Mark. Sons; William and wife Jennifer and John and wife Kim. Nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
