Barbara Ann Silverman,73, of Scranton died Monday September 27, 2021 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband Jay Silverman.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Anna Karzensoki, Barbara attended Dunmore public schools. Barbara worked very hard in life to accomplish her goal to help people in need every chance she possibly can including acquiring her certification for a CNA. Barbara worked in several local nursing homes and also private duty but enjoyed most of all working with and taking care of the nuns at Marian Convent. Barbara meant so much to so many but most of all her family and was the glue that held everyone together, she adopted friends and animals along the way including her babies Gizmo, Midnight and Mamas who she loved so very much and had taken care of up to her passing.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jay Silverman, mother Anna Karzenoski, son James Martin, daughter Lori Karzenoski, brother Joseph Karzenoski, very special aunts, uncles and cousins.

Barbara is survived by children Barbara Martin and companion Victor Anderson, Kevin Martin and fiancé Devan Barr, Stacy Amaya and husband Ismael Amaya, Katina Calamaco and husband Juan Calamaco, Jay Silverman and wife Jennifer Silverman, Barbara Smith fiancé of deceased James Martin, niece and nephew Cherie and Joseph Karzenoski, 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11AM at Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main Ave., West Scranton. Carl J. Savino, Jr., Supervisor. Interment to follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
