Carmella Pappa, 83, of Dunmore, passed away Thursday night at home.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Frontuto Lawrence and attended Dunmore public schools. Before retirement, she worked as a custodian for the Dunmore School District.
Carm enjoyed being out working especially in her younger years when she worked at the legendary Props Pool Hall and Toot’s bar. She was well known for stories and a good laugh. She worked as a seamstress and was a caretaker to her mother. Carm enjoyed sitting on her front porch and waving to those who passed by and beeped. Affectionately known as “Honey” by her family and friends, she loved spending time with her great-granddaughter, Gianna. She was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are a son, Joe Pappa; grandchildren, Joey and Jackie Pappa; great-granddaughter, Gianna Houlihan; a former daughter-in-law, Barbara “Bump” Pappa, all of Dunmore; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Hazen and Donna Sink.
