Carmella Sabatini Obituary

Carmella E. Sabatini, 85, of Dunmore, passed away after a battle with Dementia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. “Dick” Sabatini in 2012.

A lifelong resident of Dunmore, daughter of the late Santo and Maria Graci Quatra, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish.

Carmella enjoyed her time taking bus trips to the Casinos, weekend card games, visiting different family members for lunch, telling stories about the “olden days”, baking, doing puzzles, listening to 1950s Doo Wop music, shopping, watching Tennis and Dancing with The Stars, attending Saturday mass and always being on the go.

For over 30 years she kept active as a “Mall Walker” at the Viewmont Mall, making many special friendships and meeting up every morning for coffee and conversation. During her illness, she looked forward to going to Telespond Adult DayCare in Scranton to meet new friends and participate in all of their wonderful activities. Above all, her favorite thing to do was visit and spend time with her grandchildren.

Mom, we are comforted knowing your mind is at peace, you are no longer suffering and are celebrating with Dad and your siblings in Heaven.

Grandchildren Giuliana, Summer, Dominic and Ava Gallucci, all of Voorhees, NJ.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Santo Quatra and Angelo John Quatra, and sisters, Josephine Palermo, Angela Chiaro Zaffino, Susan Dante, and Rita Sack. They are now all together, having Sunday Dinner, followed by a card game. Salute!
