Caroline Zangardi, 69, of Dunmore, passed away on Sunday afternoon at Moses Taylor Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jude who passed away on March 12, 2000.
Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Helen Kucharski Capanna both of South River New Jersey and was a member of SS Anthony and Rocco Parish. She received a bachelor and master’s degree in education from Marywood University and prior to retirement, she was a teacher for the North Pocono School District.
Caroline was a long-time volunteer for St. Anthony’s Memorial Playground Association and board member. She enjoyed to travel especially any place tropical and enjoyed the casino. She was a great cook and loved to entertain especially Sunday dinners where her door was always open. She cherished her grandchildren and was very proud of her sons and worked beside them at their business, Gold Crown Pizza. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are sons; Adam and wife Bridget, David and wife Sara and George and wife Elizabeth, all of Dunmore. Grandchildren; Teagan, Logan, Noah, Lila, Raelinn, Arya, Violet, Caitlin and Jude. A sister; Theresa Capanna, S. River, NJ. A niece; Maura Zangardi and nephews; Timothy Capanna and wife Katie and Michael and Stephen Zangardi. Brothers in law; Stephen Zangardi and wife Marquerite, Dickson City and Anthony Zangardi and wife Elizabeth, Dunmore, Numerous cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her companion; Joseph Talutto.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St. in Dunmore at 9:30am.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7pm at Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore. Those attending both the viewing and the mass are kindly and respectfully asked to socially distance without making direct contact with the family and are required to wear a mask. Friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral.
