Charles M. DeNapoli, 73, of Dunmore, passed away on Thursday evening at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 54 years, the former Joan Dombroski.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Michael and Jennie DeAngelo DeNapoli. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and a member of SS Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. Prior to retirement he was a shipping and receiving clerk for the former Norton Book.
Charlie’s devotion to his faith, family and friends was boundless. His love for his wife, children and grandchildren, who adored their Poppy, was obvious in all he did and said. All who knew him, loved and respected him. He was an avid golfer, achieving three holes in one, an outstanding athlete, loved music, and was a lifelong fan of the Dunmore Bucks and the Green Bay Packers.
Also surviving is a son, Michael DeNapoli and his wife Bobbi, Dunmore. A daughter, Jennifer DeNapoli and husband Bret Rickert, Carlisle, Pa. Grandchildren, Joey Dillon, Charlie and Carmen DeNapoli. A sister, Joann Wascovich, Landenberg, Pa. Sisters-in-law, Patricia DeNapoli, and Rose Frick, both of Scranton. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like family.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Nicholas M. DeNapoli, brother-in-law, George Wascovich, and father-in-law, Donald Dombroski.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore with a 11:00am Mass at St. Rocco’s Church, Kurtz St. in the Bunker Hill section of Dunmore.
Interment, St. Michael’s Cemetery in Dunmore.
Friends may call Monday morning from 8:30am until 10:30am at the funeral home.
