Charles Andrew Salvo, 81, of Newtown Square and formerly of Dunmore, died February 25th at Bryn Mawr Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Carol Kellogg.
Born in Pittston, son of the late Samuel and Margaret Botteon Salvo, he was a graduate of Pittston High School, Kings College and a veteran of the United States Army.
Chuck was employed by Schott Glass Technologies for over 30 years serving as the Vice President of Finance at their Duryea facility. Outside of work, Chuck was an avid sports fan especially cheering on Penn State football and New York Yankees baseball, but his passion was even greater when watching his kids and grandkids competing in various activities. In addition to enjoying all sports, he and Carol traveled frequently with his most enjoyable times spending time with family and friends in Puerto Rico and at the Jersey Shore.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by sons Robert and wife Amy and their children Jack and Luke, all of Springfield, PA; and Kevin and wife Sarah, and their children Norah and Ethan, all of Havertown, PA.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Alexander Deak and the staff at Bryn Mawr Hospital for the compassion and dignity they showed to Chuck, as well as everyone who have shared prayers and well wishes over the past few months.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
Family and friends may pay their respects Friday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
