Christine L. Teske

Christine L. Teske, 91, of Dunmore, passed away Monday afternoon at Dunmore Health Care Center. Her husband, the late Roger Edward Teske, passed away Dec. 30, 2019. The couple had been married for 63 years.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Isabel Sabia Young and was a 1947 graduate of Dunmore High School. She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore.

She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics fan and was an active committee member for her "class of 47" reunions. She was a devoted homemaker and was very proud of her two daughters. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A special thank you to her niece Carmella Castellani for helping in caring for her aunt. Christine's daughters would also like to thank all of the nurses, aides and staff at the Dunmore Health Care Center for all of their care and compassion shown to their mom.

Surviving are daughters, Karen Barraro and husband, James, Port St. Lucy, Fla.; and Jeanine Mayer, Dunmore; sisters, Bernetta Nigro; and Rose La Spina and husband, Sal, all of Dunmore; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers.

A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. All attending are kindly and respectfully asked to social distance and are required to wear a mask immediately upon entering the church. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
