Claire Eibach Obituary

Claire Eibach, 83 of Scranton passed on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at The Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, where she was admitted on Sunday, with her daughters at her side.

Born on June 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Weber) Eibach. A graduate of St. Mary's Assumption School, Claire was employed at local supermarkets throughout her life, mainly Acme Markets and most recently Wegman's, Dickson City, where she worked for 20 years until her retirement at age 81. Talking to her you would think she had stock in Wegman's, always bragging about how wonderful it was, to everyone she talked to.

She was given the nickname "The Notorious CAE" after fighting through many illnesses in her lifetime, including breast cancer, bladder cancer, open heart surgery, and most recently kidney cancer, and always pulling through. She fought the fight like no other, stunning her doctors with her resilience. She used her German heritage to its fullest- Her biggest wish was to stay in her home, which she loved so much until her death, and that was granted by her loving daughters and brother, who were there every day for the past two years taking care of her.

Her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her grandchildren when they were younger. She was their biggest fan, no matter what they did. She loved bowling and was on a bowling league until her last illness.

The family would like to thank her doctors who pulled her through so many times, especially Dr. Ferdinand Manahan and staff (Pat, Sherry and Kathy); Dr. Kevin Olsen and staff; and her "heroes," the "girls" from Davita Dialysis in Eynon, who treated her like one of their own.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda, Dunmore and Sally (Joe) Marrazzo, Archbald; grandchildren, Amanda (Alex), Jason (Lindsey), and Justin (Heather) Staniszewski, five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Noah, Stella, Azalea and Zinnia; a brother, Rich (Dorothy), Green Ridge;a sister, Sister Rosamund, s.c.c., Mallinckrodt Convent, Mendham, NJ; two nephews, Chris and Richard Eibach; niece/God-daughter, Sarah Eibach and their children, Katrina, Evan and Lucas; many cousins, including Rosemary (Kevin) Perrine, Quakertown, and Susan (Bruce) Ormiston, Waymart, who were like sisters to her; and best friends, Debbie Lubreski and Roseann Courtright, whom she loved going to the horseraces and dinner with.

She was proceeded in death by a son, Bobby (age 14); a grandson, Baby Adam Staniszewski, and an infant sister, Sally Ann Eibach.

Memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter 967 Griffin Pond Road Clarks Summit, PA 1841.

A private funeral service will be held.
