Claire A. Golob, 89, of Delray Beach and formerly of Scranton and Chapman Lake, died Friday morning in Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Golob, in 2012.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Morris L. and Anna L. Bergenfeld Kurzweil, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and was a former member of the Ohev Zedek Congregation. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sincerely missed.
Surviving are her children, Fern Golob Grama and husband of blessed memory Yshaya Grama, David Golob and wife Susan Curcurato Golob, and Susan Golob; grandchildren Joy Grama and Nicole Palermo and husband Daniel; great-grandchildren Logan and Raven Palermo; her sisters Judy Miller and husband Bob, Ruth Levine, Shirley Green, and Faye Bloch; her brother Sheldon Kurzweil and wife Judith; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Eve Ziegler; and brothers Zachary and Irwin Kurzweil.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Daniel Swartz.
There will be no local shiva.
