Daniel Barone Obituary

 Daniel A. Barone, 87, of Dunmore, passed away Saturday morning at Dunmore Health Care Center. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Pallo.
Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose Lawrence Barone and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore and was a United States Army veteran. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and, before retirement, he was a dedicated employee of A&P Tea Co. and Gerrity’s Supermarket.
He enjoyed bowling, golf and attending all the Dunmore Bucks football and basketball games. He was an avid New York Yankees and Duke Basketball fan. He is now at peace and will forever be missed and treasured by his whole family. Rest in Peace, Dad, we love you. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Dunmore Health Care Center for all of their care and compassion.
Also surviving are his children, Susan Bewick and husband, Tom; Daniel Barone and wife, Kristen, all of Dunmore; and Dean Barone, Throop; grandchildren, Daniel and Brendan Barone, and Tom and Gina Bewick; a great-grandson, Noah; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Roselle Mathewson, Jane Minish and Betty King; brothers, Benjamin, Joseph, Charles and Anthony; and a nephew, Tony Barone Jr.
A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church on Smith Street in Dunmore. All those attending the Mass are kindly and respectfully asked to socially distance and are required to wear a mask. Interment is private at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
