Daniel Brian Gorton, 41, of Scott Township, passed away on Saturday at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He is survived by his wife, the former Renee Dragwa.
Born in Scranton, he is the son of Daniel James and Bonnie Bitler Gorton. He was a graduate of Lakeland Jr/Sr Highschool and received an associate’s degree from Johnson College. He was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot for 18 years as an electronic technician.
Dan’s love for his children was immeasurable and they meant the world to him. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating at Lake Sheridan. He was a car enthusiast and was very proud of his Mustang. He loved camping with his family and friends and loved spending time with his dogs. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and his infectious smile.
Also surviving are his children, Shyla and Hunter, at home. Sisters, Heather Janosky and husband John, Greenfield Township and Kerri Nichols and husband Christopher, Scott Township. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and uncles, James Gorton and William O’Neill.
Daniel’s family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for all of the care and compassion they had shown to Daniel and his family during his time there.
A service will be held on Thursday at 10:00am at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore.
Interment, Valley View Cemetery, Scott Township
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
