David Frommert, 60, of Madison Twp., passed away Saturday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after a long courageous battle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife of five years, the former Jacqueline Kornish.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward and Catherine Arlene Wrobleski Frommert and was a 1981 graduate of Dunmore High School and an Air Force veteran. Prior to his illness he was an electronics technician at Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Dave enjoyed long distance running and martial arts. He was a loving husband and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters who he adored.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart and family and friends for all of the care and compassion they have shown to Dave during his illness.
Also surviving are brothers, Edward and wife Madeline, West Scranton; and Dan and wife Mary Ellen, Dunmore. Granddaughters, Ava, Madison and Emma. Stepdaughters, Jennifer O’Malley and husband Brian, Spring Brook and Rebecca Topa, Scranton. Niece, Sarah; and nephews, Brandon and Brian.
He was also preceded in death by an infant niece, Valerie Frommert.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. by Pastor Pat Lee at Light of Christ Church, 2067 Moosic Lake Road, Jefferson Twp. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Glioblastoma Foundation, PO Box 62066 Durham, NC 27715.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
