Dawn Arvonio Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dawn Arvonio, a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, friend, who left us on Wednesday at the age of 82.

She was born in Scranton and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Ferresse Tallo. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and a member of SS Anthony & Rocco Parish in Dunmore.

Dawn was the steadfast rock in our family, dedicating her life to supporting her husband, Patrick with unwavering love and devotion. Her commitment to him was unparalleled. Together, they were deeply faithful, praying the rosary daily and finding solace in their devotion to the Lord and Our Mother of Perpetual Help. They were married for 59 years and would have celebrated 60 years on September 5th.

To her daughters, Lori, Maria and Dawn she was a source of endless love and inspiration. Her deep affection for them was evident in everything she did, and her pride in their achievements knew no bounds.

Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. Her love for them was profound, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her legacy will live on through the countless memories she created with her family.

A beloved family tradition was her Sunday Italian dinners, where Dawn would gather her loved ones around the table to share delicious meals and cherished moments. These gatherings reflected her nurturing spirit and love for family.

Dawn will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness, compassion, strength, and love have left an indelible mark on our hearts. We find comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide us, and her memory will forever be cherished.

She is survived by her loving husband Patrick, her loving children, Lori Summa and husband Frank, Maria Summa and husband Richard, Dawn Calfa and husband Tony.

Her cherished grandchildren, Mario Calfa, Francesca Lemoncelli and husband Thomas, Gianna Summa, Antonio Calfa, Gabriella Summa, Nico Summa, Lucia Summa, Marina Calfa and Sophia Summa.

She was also preceded in death by her dear sister, Marina LaCagnina.

The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St. Dunmore.

Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
