Debra Ann Skrutski Grimm, 71, a lifelong resident of Scranton—in fact in the same neighborhood—died Tuesday in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She and her husband, Robert Grimm, Jr. had celebrated 49 years of marriage on April 26th.
Born in Pittston on January 8, 1953, only child of the late Stanley and Connie Mendola Skrutski, she graduated from Mother Cabrini Grade School, Class of 1966 and went on to graduate from West Scranton High School as a member of the class of 1970. In her early years, she worked at Scranton Dry Goods/Oppenheim’s. She retired from Aramark at Charles Sumner Elementary School in 2018. She was a member of SEIU union since 2005.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Lori Evans and husband Brian, and granddaughter Stephanie, all of Old Forge; and sisters-in-law Alice Grimm of Duryea and Joyce Tozer of Binghamton; as well as cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Lucy’s Church, Scranton St., West Scranton.
Family and friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of mass.
Interment to follow in Cathedral Cemetery, West Scranton.
