Dianna R. Gammaitoni, 89, of Dunmore, passed away on Thursday, June 19th, at Allied Skilled Nursing Center in Scranton.
Born in Scranton on June 15, 1936, Dianna was the beloved daughter of the late Ambrose and Susan Richelmi Parola. A proud graduate of Dunmore High School, Class of 1953, she spent many years as a human resources manager at Maui Cup in Pittston and Sprague & Henwood Drilling in Scranton.
Dianna was deeply involved in her community, dedicating many years to working and volunteering at the Dunmore Senior Center, where she found great joy in connecting with fellow seniors. Her warmth and generosity touched many lives.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Dianna cherished family gatherings and holidays. She was a passionate cook, best known for her homemade ravioli and lasagna, which brought her family together around the table. Her love for her family was unwavering, especially for her cherished grandson, Jack.
A woman of strong faith, Dianna was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Dunmore. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine “Cookie” Moore.
She is survived by her children: Carla Kincel of Archbald, Lisa Miles of Potomac Falls, VA, and James Gammaitoni and wife Janet of Dickson City; her adored grandson, John “Jack” Miles; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24th at 11:00 AM at St. Eulalia’s Parish, with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Family and friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank. The family would like to thank the staff Allied Skilled Nursing Center for their care and compassion.
