Domenic J. Giacobbe Jr., 64, of Dunmore tragically passed away Friday. He and his wife, the love of his life, Karen (Dobosh), celebrated 27 years of marriage on May 2nd.
Born October 20,1961 in Philadelphia to the late Domenic J. Sr. and Julia (Warrington) Giacobbe. Domenic was a graduate of Triton Regional High School. He was employed as a utility inspector for Atlas Technical Consultants in Clarks Summit.
Domenic, “Dom,” will be remembered as the most loving husband, father, “pop”, brother, and uncle. Dom revolved his life around his children and grandchildren. He was actively involved in his children’s sporting events as a coach and their #1 fan. He was present at every game, practice, and recital. From baseball, football, and softball to dance and piano, Dom was there. Domenic enjoyed betting on horses every week as well as cheering on his favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Dom was known to all as the man who could erupt the room in laughter with his endless jokes and sarcastic comments. He had a gift for making people laugh, often when they needed it most, and he embraced life with a happiness that was genuine and contagious.
Surviving are his five children - Nicole Beavers and her husband Chuck, Mt. Cobb, Dawn Bozarth and her husband Jeremy, Las Vegas, NV, Domenic J. Giacobbe III and his wife Elizabeth, Mayfield, Anthony Giacobbe and Sarah Giacobbe, both of Dunmore - His mother- in- law, Gloria Dobosh, Dunmore, his five siblings – Diane Eiler and her husband Owen, Philadelphia, Maria Giacobbe, Archbald, Raymond Giacobbe, Linda Walck and her husband Scott, and Joann Maiocco and her husband Lance, all of Lake Ariel – as well as his 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Stephen P. Giacobbe.
A mass of the Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street in Dunmore. Interment will follow in the Dunmore Cemetery. There is no public viewing.
