Dominick F. Summa, formerly of Dunmore, died May 20th at home in Florida where he had been residing.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Vito A. and Carmella DePrimo Summa, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School, Class of 1964, and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a remodeling contractor for the city of Scranton. While still living locally, he was a member of the McHugh-Bushweller Post 3474 in Dunmore, the Disabled American Veterans in Dickson City, as well as the American Legion in Olyphant. As a former resident of Foley, Alabama, he had been a member of their Marine Corps League.
Surviving are his daughters Maria Summa of Dunmore, and Michelle Rinaldi of Florida; his sons Luke Summa and wife Teri of Florida, and Scott Summa of Florida; grandchildren Dominique Melina Scalese, Jaimi Michael Scalese, Frank Lombardo, Hillel Rudy, and Noah Rudy; great-grandchildren Azlyn Azzarelli, Lael Fortese, Stone Summa, River Fortese, Valland Fortese, Julia Scalese, Jaimi Scalese,Jr., Jesse Rudy, and Joslyn Rudy; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gaetano A. Summa.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore on Saturday June 21st from 9 to11 a.m. with a blessing service beginning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
Interment with military honors, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Township.
