Domnick Vincent Iezzi, 90, of Dunmore, peacefully passed away Saturday morning at home. He is survived by his loving and loyal wife of 62 years, the former Ann Marie Petrucci.
Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late William and Mary Summa Iezzi. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He also served as co-owner and operator of Summa & Iezzi, Inc. for over 60 years.
Domnick was a devoted member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore, who attended St. Ann’s weekly novena mass without fail. He held various roles throughout his lifetime, including board member of St. Joseph's Center, President of the Columbus Day Association, and member of the former Rome Club. However, his favorite role of all was being 'Pop' to his 5 grandchildren. He loved supporting them in all their endeavors and instilled in them the value of hard work and family. He also loved to travel, enjoy a night out to dinner, and being an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He was the most loyal friend and always put the needs of others before his own. He will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Also surviving is son, Mark and wife Mary Ann Olivetti Iezzi, and daughter, Dr. Kathleen Iezzi Walsh and husband Paul, all of Dunmore; grandchildren, Justin Iezzi and wife Amanda, Evan Iezzi, Shawn Iezzi, Matthew Walsh and fiancé Rachel Beltran, and Mara Walsh; his sister, Ann Yanisko and brother, William Iezzi and wife Florence, all of Dunmore; brother-in-law, Robert Petrucci and wife Diane, Olyphant; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Paul Yanisko, John and Joseph Petrucci.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker Street, Dunmore with mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment is private at the Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday from 4 -7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Joseph’s Center, 2010 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA 18509; or to SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, 303 Smith Street, Dunmore, PA 18512.
