Donald Bonavoglia Obituary

Donald A. Bonavoglia, Dunmore, died Thursday morning at home.  He and his wife, the former Susan M. Stas, would have celebrated her 35th anniversary on June 14th.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Leonard and Mary Rinaldi Bonavoglia, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.  Prior to his retirement, he was the Receiving Department Manager at Sears in the Viewmont Mall.  He was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore, and the Elmhurst Country Club where he was an avid golfer and very proud of his hole-in-one.  He also was a fan of Penn State Football and the New York Yankees.

He is also survived by his stepson, Jeff Sarnoski of Justus, as well as a niece, Maria Bonavoglia and fiancée Randy Nixon; and nephews Jason and Michael Bonavoglia.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Loftus, and brother, Vince.

His family would like to thank Dr. Michele Hazzouri for all her dedicated care and for being a true friend to Donnie.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 208 Smith St., Dunmore.  Please observe public gathering guidelines.
