The world lost a beloved mother — Donna Ann Novorosky, 66, of Dunmore, passed away Sunday afternoon at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a fierce battle with lung cancer and heart disease.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Margaret Lee Trainor and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. Prior to retirement, she worked in the nutrition services department at the former Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was an incredibly hard worker and was recognized by her peers for her outstanding service and dedication.
Donna was kind, caring, warm and loving. She loved so deeply and she was like a mom to everyone. She had a smile that could light up a room and an infectious laugh especially during game nights with her family. She found incredible joy in cooking. If you were lucky enough to attend one of her meals, then you’d know she was an “out of this world” cook! We know that we can’t have you forever but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally called you home. Goodbye to a beautiful soul, we are so lucky to have called you ours.
Surviving are her loving children: her daughters, Danya Senofonte and husband, Mark, Greenfield Twp.; Corinne Novorosky and husband, Jeff Brown, Scranton; Melissa Mitchko and husband, John, Archbald; a son, Shaun Novorosky and wife, Anita, Scranton; her adored grandchildren, Kayla Trygar and fiancé, Dennis Ross; Daren Trygar, Damian and Jacob Brown, and a soon-to-be grandson, Johnny Mitchko; great-grandchildren, Mia and Alex Ross; a sister, Leslie Trainor and husband, Pat, Dunmore; nieces, nephews and several cousins.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Judy; and brothers, Ronald, William and John Trainor.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may celebrate her life from 9:00am until the time of mass at the church.
