Dorothy Spindler, 78, died Saturday December 18th at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Spindler, in 2017.
Born in Old Forge, daughter of the late Edward and Sophie Ferrett Muha, she was a 1960 graduate if Old Forge High School and also Lackawanna Beauty School. She and her husband owned and operated Joey’s Lunch in Scranton for many years. She worked for Verizon in Wilkes-Barre and retired in 2009.
She is survived by sisters Kathy Sanko and husband Paul of Abbottstown; stepson Joseph Spindler and his daughters Sarah and Lizzie, all of Old Forge; her cousin Rose Loggens of Old Forge; brother Edward Muha and wife Mary Lou of California; and also, best friends Mona Sheppard, Marge Moody, and Helga Pfou.
She was preceded in death by a step daughter in law, Anne Spindler.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public calling hours. Interment will be private in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Old Forge.
