Edward F. Matticks, 83, of Dunmore, passed away on Wednesday morning at Regional Hospital in Scranton. Surviving is his wife, the former Susan Pavuk. The couple were married for 58 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Griffiths Matticks. He was a graduate of the former Taylor High School and prior to retirement he was a plumber with Local 524. He also served in the Marine Corps.
Ed was a loving and supporting husband, father and grandfather. His granddaughter was the light of his life. He enjoyed long Sunday drives, meeting his friends for coffee and relaxing on his front porch on Sherwood Ave. He was an avid New York Yankee and Dunmore Bucks Football fan. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Also surviving is a son, Timothy, Dunmore. Granddaughter, Ariel Matticks and companion Ryan Williams, Scranton. A sister, Mary Lou Ranken, Florida. A brother, William Matticks and wife Katherine, Scranton. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by nine siblings.
There are no public services at this time.
Interment is private at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow.
