Emily Trunzo, 78, passed away peacefully early Sunday in the Jewish Home of Eastern PA, Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Jean Schoenhof Weinberg. Emily was a teacher for many years in the Scranton School District. She spent a lot of time volunteering for many committees including the Jewish War Veterans, Blind Association, and the Jewish Women’s Auxiliary. She was an active member of Temple Hesed.
Surviving is a son Eric Spatt and wife Yvette and his children Jordan and Isabelle; her daughter Lori Clark and her children Jessica and Matthew; and her son Craig Trunzo and wife Amber, and their children Jacob and Ethan; great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Myrna Fisher.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Daniel Swartz. There is no local shiva.
