Eric Rahn Rudy, 65, of Dalton, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 19th at Geisinger-Community Medical Center after being stricken ill at home while bravely battling cancer.
Born in Reading, PA, son of the late Victor and Mildred Jean Ebright Rudy, he was a prominent local musician, working with numerous local bands such as Tribes, and had most recently branched out into solo work, performing extensively throughout the region. He had a quirky sense of humor, that even though it was sometimes awkward and left people guessing, it always got a knowing smile and laugh from those around him.
Surviving are his children, Erika Rudy, Hillel Rahn Rudy, Noah Xavier Rudy, Benjamin Morgan Rudy, and twins Maxwell Alyster Rudy and Charlotte Abigail Rudy; grandchildren Jesse Rahn Rudy and Joslyn Bonni Rudy; stepchildren Dominique Melina Scalese and Jaimi Michael Scalese; step-grandchildren Azlyn Azzarelli, Lael Fortese, River Fortese, Valland Fortese, and Julia Scalese; nieces Kate Callahan and Mychael Rudy Barnett; his siblings Karen Schleicher and Victor Rudy; his trusted friend and mother of his oldest boys, Maria Summa, as well as her family; Rachel Cramer Rudy, mom to his youngest children; as well as a wide host people lucky enough to have met him and heard him play.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, on Friday, January 31st from 5-7 p.m. with a blessing service beginning at 7 p.m.
