Evalin Baldinger, 97, of Hallandale Beach, FL and formerly of Scranton, died Friday in the Florida Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin I. Baldinger, in 2005.
Born, October 23, 1926 in Hazleton, daughter of the late Meyer and Faye Krubitsky Mintz and stepdaughter of the late Julia Einstein Mintz, she had been employed as a bookkeeper for many years by Walter Rehrig and Gerard Hildebrand prior to moving to Florida 40 years ago. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend, Evalin loved spending time with family and those closest to her. She enjoyed shopping and had a knack for always finding the best deals. She also liked going out to dinner and playing Mahjongg and Canasta.
Surviving are daughters Fyllis Etter and husband Dr. Mark, and Cindy Roth and husband Dr. Joseph; grandchildren Dr. Jonathan Etter and wife Erin, Drs. Matthew Etter and wife Alyson, Rececca Frantz and husband Adam, Michael Roth and wife Julie, Adam Roth and wife Anna, and Nicole Roth and partner Dr. Adam; great-grandchildren Elliott Etter, Madeleine Etter, Sophie Etter, Noa Etter, Kuno Roth and Margot Roth; her brother Kenneth Mintz; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Mintz.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Dovid Saks.
Shiva will be held Monday through Wednesday from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the Etter Residence: 1145 Herkness Dr, Meadowbrook, PA 19046 and Thursday 7:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m. at Roth Residence: 64 Schindler Way, Fairfield, NJ 07004.
