Evelyn Lee Wolfe passed away peacefully at her home in Dunmore on January 13, 2022.
Born in Scranton on October 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harold M. and Anna D. (Posovsky) Wolfe. Evelyn was a graduate of Scranton Central High School. After attending the University of Miami and working briefly in New York City, she settled in Scranton and worked for many years in the guidance department of both Scranton Central High School and West Scranton High School. She was a long-standing member of the Beth Shalom Congregation.
Evelyn is survived by two nieces (Rebecca Wolfe Acosta and Mimi Wolfe Strouse), and a nephew (David P. Wolfe, MD), the children of her late brother Martin S. Wolfe, MD and Lise Lotte Wolfe of Washington, D.C. She is also survived by seven grand-nieces and nephews, three cousins (Essie Weissberger, Lewis Silverman, and David Kessler), and their families.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, January 21st at 1 p.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Daniel Swartz.
