Frances Cleary Obituary

Frances Lesh Cleary, 87, of Scranton, passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2023.
A lifelong resident of Keyser Valley, she graduated from West Scranton High School. She retired in 1998 from Superior Omega Window Company after more than 20 years of running their administrative office.
Country line dancing was one of her great passions. She loved her dance club and spent years giving line dancing lessons. She loved local theatre and would go with their friends to shows all over the Poconos each summer and even had some chances to perform in supporting roles along side the cast. She was a big NASCAR fan and traveled to races whenever she got the chance. In addition to NASCAR, Fran enjoyed rooting for the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fran was a member of the Berean Interdenominational Church until its closure where she sang frequently at worship services. Her favorite hyme was “In the Garden.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lesh Sr. and Mary Lesh. Also, her sister, Mary Diana Altenheim; her brother, William Lesh Jr.; daughter, Colleen Laniewski; son-in-law, Charles Keller; and grandson, Joseph Palmitessa Jr.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Eileen Cleary Keller, Kathleen Cleary Genett, Darlene Cleary Palmitessa; and sons, John Cleary and Craig Cleary. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Lowry. Frances loved and adored her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private ceremony for the family is to be planned.
