Gayle H. Butler, 97, passed away peacefully Friday at home in Brooks Estates at Wesley Village in Jenkins Township where she has resided for the past 24 years. She was the wife of the late John “Jack” Butler who died in 2017. They had married May 29th 1953.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late W. Carl and Beth Wagner Henry. Gayle was a graduate of Dunmore High School and worked for many years at the Fidelity Deposit and Discount Bank in Dunmore. While living in Dunmore, she was a member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church and sang in it’s choir. Gayle also greatly enjoyed spending time at the family’s cottage at Lake Ariel.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda B. Baker and her husband G. Clair, Hagerstown, MD, a son, Jay R. Butler and his wife Martha, Ransom Township, two grandchildren, Jonathan C. Baker and his wife Helen, Williamsport, MD, and Emilee G. Butler, Wayne, PA, and a great granddaughter, Addison J. Baker, Williamsport, MD.
Friends may call Wednesday 5-7PM in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore.
A private funeral and burial in the Fairview Memorial Park will take place at the convenience of the family.
