Georgia G. Granza, 73, of Eynon, died unexpectedly Monday morning at home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Michael Granza, on December 15, 2019.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late George and Agnes Stravinsky Harbaugh, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1969. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for over 20 years by Gertrude Hawk Chocolates as a Packer Department Supervisor, and most had most recently worked for Follett at Lackawanna College.
Affectionately known as “George”, she was the true matriarch of the family. When she and Robert moved in with her daughter Christine and family, Georgia gladly cared for everyone in the household, whether it was going to appointments, helping to raise the kids, or whatever anyone needed. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her grandchildren, especially her buddy Jacob. They were the light of her life and true pride and joy.
She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, but she was ready to be with her husband again, as she missed him terribly.
Surviving is a daughter, Christine Armstrong and husband Kevin; sons Bruce Maloney and wife Kristy, Robert Granza and wife Dara, and William Maloney; grandchildren Sarah Armstrong and Jacob Armstrong.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bruce Harbaugh and Karen Berry.
Per her wishes, there are no public services.
