Ingrid F. Kreiner Malia, 77, of Dunmore, passed away Saturday after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam in 2011.
Born in Nuremberg, Germany and resided in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late George and Ann Kreiner. Prior to retirement, she worked as a garment sewing operator. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore and the MAC club. Ingrid was loving and devoted to her family and friends. She always lent a helping hand to those who were in need of it. She was very outgoing. She loved to be around people whether it be family, friends, or simply going to Riccardo’s Market, her favorite place to see who, from town, was out and about. She greeted everyone with a big smile and loved to joke around, especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Sam; daughter Diana Montaro and husband, Anthony; grandchildren Frank and his partner Marissa, and Maria and Anthony; sisters-in-law, Mary Rose Malia, Andrea Shonk and husband, Rich; and a niece, Alyssa Shonk.
The Malia-Montaro family would like to thank the Wright Center, Regional Hospital, Geisinger Hospital, Hematology and Oncology and Sacred Heart Hospice for all the tender love and care you gave Ingrid.
