Jacqulyn “Jackie” McGraw, 89, of Dunmore passed away Thursday morning at home. She and her husband James “Jimmy” McGraw Sr. celebrated 68 years of marriage on June 25.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Flynn) Carter. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was later employed as a welder at Anemostat before retiring. Nothing was more important to Jackie than her family. She was the epitome of what a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt should be. She always welcomed everyone in with open arms and a loving heart. She was always there with an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. She was also brutally honest with you, not sparing any feelings knowing she gave you the cold hard truth. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Patty and husband Jack Froese; sons, Jimmy Jr. and wife Alice, Bobby and wife Gina, and Tommy McGraw, all of Dunmore. Her grandchildren, Jimmy McGraw III, Sarah and husband Greg Veater, Jenn and husband Jason McMurtry, Megan and wife Kristi McGraw, Heather and partner John Miloro, Jennifer and husband Rod Young, and Emily and husband John Keating. Great-grandchildren, Emma and Coilin Froese, Chase McMurtry, Charleigh, Jackson, Grayson and Finleigh Veater, Julia and Rod Young, and Abigail Miloro; as well as her brother, Brian and wife RoseMary Carter; and countless nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maribeth; grandsons, Eddie and Timmy; grandson, Jack Froese; great-granddaughters, Everleigh and Hadleigh Veater; brothers, Robert and James Carter; and sisters, Ann Marie Earley and Jeanie Hadley.
We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at Traditional Hospice. Especially Colleen Davis; you showed Mom such love, compassion and tenderness. The care that you gave Mom was above and beyond what we could have ever asked, thank you for what you did everyday for her, you helped her to live out her life with dignity and respect, and for that we will be eternally grateful. The words “oh no” will never be the same.
A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date. Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
