James Allen Wilk, 57, Scott Twp., died Tuesday at home.
Born in Apple Valley, CA, son of the former Joan Zuby and the late Stanley E. Wilk, Jr., he was a graduate of Old Forge High School and proudly served in the Air Force. He retired from the Department of Corrections, and had currently been employed at the Home Depot. He was a very kind “gentle giant” who had a contagious laugh, and was an avid fan of the Yankees and New York Jets. He was so proud to be a father and grandfather. His two daughters and granddaughhter were the light of his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Wilk Finnerty and husband Brice Finnerty, Emily Wilk and companion Joshua Rhoads, granddaughter Julia Scalese, and his former wife Erin Houlihan Wilk, all of Dunmore.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey.
A public funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge.
All those attending the mass are asked to follow current safety guidelines by social distancing and wearing a mask.
