Jean S. Hadley, 90, of Dunmore, passed away on Tuesday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. Her husband, the late John P. “Jack” Hadley passed away on June 19, 2011. The couple had been married for 59 years.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna Flynn Carter and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Dunmore and was a devout catholic. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are daughters, Nancy Birrane and husband John, Dunmore, Sally Luongo and husband Tony, Scranton. Sons, Jack Hadley and wife Dale and Bob Hadley and wife AnneMarie, all of Dunmore. Thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. A sister Jackie McGraw and husband Jim and brother Barry Carter and wife Rosemary, all of Dunmore.
She was preceded in death by a son, Theodore “Ted” Hadley, a grandson, Brian P. Hadley, a sister, Ann Marie Earley and brothers, Robert and James Carter.
The funeral will be Friday from St. Mary’s Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore with a Mass at 10:00am.
Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday morning at the church from 9:00am until the time of Mass.
