Joan Powell, 93, a lifetime resident of West Scranton, died Saturday, August 31st.
Joan was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked many years for Harper Collins. She was a devoted member of St. Ann’s Basilica.
Joanie enjoyed gardening, reading, and going to the casino. Her biggest joy was in helping others.
She is survived by several cousins, members of the Scaccia and Scioscia families who considered Joan as family, as well as many dear friends. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her mother Mae, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her longtime partner, Albert Tacchi.
Services and interment were privately held under the care of Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, West Scranton.
