Joanne M. Ambrosecchia, 83, of Scranton and formerly of Dunmore, passed away on Saturday afternoon at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. Surviving is her husband, Martin. The couple were married for 62 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Santarsiero Rinaldi. She graduated from Dunmore High School and prior to retirement she worked for the former Maloney Vending.
Joanne enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and playing Bingo. She also enjoyed being outside and cooking for her family especially during the holidays. She will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are daughters, Joanne Robinson and husband Billy and Lee Ann Huegel and husband Terrance, all of Scranton. A son, Martin and wife Susan, Scranton. Grandchildren, Patrick Joseph Spegar, Beth Ann Huegel, Anthony Spegar(wife Katie),Kristy Sohns(husband Corey), Bradley Martin Huegel(wife Tiffany), Chelsea Huegel(Brendon Murphy)and Morgan Ambrosecchia. Great grandchildren, Hannah and Hayden Sohns, Brantley Huegel and Delilah Murphy. Nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Martin Ambrosecchia lll; sisters, Dolores Gaetano, Mary Runco, and Margaret Styer. Brothers, Angelo and Daniel Rinaldi.
The funeral will be Monday with a Mass at 9:30am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St. in Dunmore.
Interment is private at the convenience of the family.
There are no public calling hours.
