John J. Mulholland, 88, of Dunmore, passed away Wednesday at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Peacock. The couple had been married for 56 years.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret Taugher Mulholland. He attended Scranton Technical High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Dunmore. Prior to retirement he was a Union Sheetmetal worker for Local 44. After retirement, he was a Payroll Delivery Driver for WePay Payroll Service for the past 25yrs.
John served in the 109th Army Reserves. He enjoyed watching Westerns & playing the lottery. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Also surviving is his daughter, Michelle Mulholland, Dunmore. A sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Oakey and husband John, McMurry, Pa. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a son, John, Jr., and sisters Maureen Pitts and Kathleen Williams and husband Rolland. Brothers, Edward Mulholland and wife Betty, Kenny, Patrick “Gary”, Norman and Tom “Moe” Mulholland. Brother-in-law, Tom Peacock and wife Judy.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore with a Mass at 10:00am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church Church, Chestnut St. In Dunmore.
Inurnment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Dunmore.
Family and friends may pay their respect on Thursday morning from 8:30am-9:30am at the funeral home.
