Joseph A. Boniello, 75, Scranton, died unexpectedly Thursday at home.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frank and Angeline Gallucci Boniello and was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1967. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his two daughters, Bonita Boniello, of Switzerland, Monica Francoise Reilly, of England, a granddaughter, Felicity Reilly, of England, a sister Ann Boniello, Dunmore, two brothers, Frank and his wife Rosemary, Scranton, and David and his wife Michele, Dunmore, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Joe lived a full life on his own terms. Joe made many friends and acquaintances over the year’s while bartending at the VFW in Dunmore and his time working at the Marjon Golf Course in Mount Cobb. He was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankees fan.
His family wishes to thank Bob Harrington, Mary Regina Perry and Jeannie and Jim Mitchell for their longtime friendship and support over the years.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at the Marjon Golf Course in Roaring Brook on Saturday May 18th at 12:00 to 3:00 PM. Interment will take place privately on the family lot in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Dunmore.
